Timeline

» BEFORE | Born in the mountainous forests of Ilsabard, Lysander grew up in a reclusive village of Veena, trained as a Wood Warder, and had formally come of age.» BEFORE | Captured and enslaved by the Garlean Empire. Given a new name, and trained to be a house pet.» CALAMITY | The engineer who had enslaved him dies while working on the Meteor project. Lysander's enslavement is inherited by his son, who is far less astute and observant.» 4 Years pre-ARR | Escapes while in Kugane, stowing away. Eventually is picked up by a Limsan crew and taken to Ul'dah, where he joins the Thaumaturge's Guild.» ARR | Spends time in Coerthas, helping in excavation efforts still underway after the Calamity. Takes up a Gunblade.» HW | His efforts in Coerthas gave him an easy in when Ishgard eased its borders. Started work with the Skysteel Manufactory and the Ironworks. Earned his spurs to House Fortemps toward the end of the Dragonsong War. Bought property, a ramshackle boarding house that he converted to an art den and bordello on the edge of the Brume.» StB | Works to help perpetuate social change inside of Ishgard.

This is up to date as to the character's current RP timeline, Lore is developing during his play. If you would like info as to his timeline later/would like to engage at a different point in time, contact me.

Other Verses

These other verses are available for play, and may be what I am playing in the open world. If you have any questions, just ask. While the verse on this main page is most common/most easy to integrate with the average rp venue, it is by no means his only version.

Trivia

+ Lysander is a hummingbird. The sweeter, the better. It's adorable.+ He will not request his own alcohol. On the flip side, he will drink anything someone has offered to him. Anything. Even if it contains mayonnaise.+ Lysander is a fragment of an Ancient named Ganymede. Yes, that Ganymede.+ The Voidsent with whom he accepted a pact was once a fragment of an Ancient named Zeus. Their relationship is... unhealthy.+ Like most arctic hares, he has a summer and a winter coat! In summer, his hair and fur turn a lovely shade of teal. In winter, it is his iconic powder blue.+ He loves berries. Any berry. All berry. Put them in his face. He will love you forever and then check your pockets for more berries.+ He refuses to wear red, despite the fact that it looks very nice on him. No, he will not explain. No, he will not be taking criticism at this time.+ Usually a pretty reliable Designated Adult™️, Lysander should never, under any circumstances, be left bunsupervised when drunk.

OOC Info

1. I am a player who believes in negotiated consent. If something comes up in the course of RP that I am uncomfortable with, I will reach out OOC to touch base on how we can move forward from here - and I invite anyone writing with me to do the same! If there is something you are unsure of, please ask.2. This character has multiple timelines. Feel free to ask which one is out and about, or to message me about any or all of them. If you see Lysander out and about in public behaving in a way that seems like it makes absolutely no sense to your character's understanding of him, it's possible that is because this is not the Lysander your character has come to know. Talking about it OOC is the best way to figure out what we want to do.3. No minors. No minor characters. No minor players. This character and his stories have themes in which I will not include minors. In this vein, respect the time-honored rule; don't lewd lalas.4. I am happy to write conflict and antagonists. However, it is important that no one 'rps to win.' There is no winning in rp, there is just making stories. If we don't all walk away happy as writers, we've all lost.5. Either in-game or discord is fine for any of the above communication needs. However, for ongoing plots, I vastly prefer Discord for roleplay.6. IC is not OOC. Player and character are very different. Shitposting sometimes blurs those lines and that's okay, but the delineation is important when talking about actual narrative arcs, scenes, and in those OOC instances where harm has been caused.7. I am an adult with a life and also dyslexia. This means I sometimes miss things in game chat. If you think I'm ignoring you, I'm almost certainly not. Shoot me a /tell, a message on Discord, or make sure to include Lysander's name in a post so it pings me.

Emperor's Shadow

» BEFORE | Born in the mountainous forests of Ilsabard, Lysander grew up in a reclusive village of Veena, trained as a Wood Warder, and had formally come of age.» BEFORE | Captured and enslaved by the Garlean Empire. Given a new name, and trained to be a house pet.» BEFORE | Emperor Solus' convoy breaks down near the house in which he is kept on their way to the front. The engineer who enslaved him was called upon to address the issue. Lysander makes an impression on His Radiance and is brought into the Imperial household.» BEFORE | Over time, he gains Solus' trust (as much as that is possible) and is taught secrets of voidsent and black magic - and how those two intertwine. It is during this period of time that he begins to be known as the Emperor's Shadow. It is also during this period of time that he acquires the strange red tattoo around his neck.» BEFORE | They grow... close, in their own way. Toward the end of his life, Solus will, in fact, see no one but Lysander. This upstart Viera becomes functionally the Emperor's mouthpiece for his last five years, despite Varis' and Nerva's objections. Lysander is the only one with him when he finally dies.» BEFORE | Lysander announces the Emperor's death to the vultures hovering outside the door, collects his things, and leaves. He was not only free, but the inheritor of enough wealth to live comfortably the rest of his life if he so chose, and the Emperor's personal gunblade.» BEFORE | Leaves the Empire and travels to Eorzea. Seeks out the Thaumaturge's Guild and works with them for a little while.» ARR | Spends time in Coerthas, helping in excavation efforts still underway after the Calamity. Learns more properly how to use the gunblade he carried sentimentally.» HW | His efforts in Coerthas gave him an easy in when Ishgard eased its borders. Started work with the Skysteel Manufactory and the Ironworks. Earned his spurs to House Fortemps toward the end of the Dragonsong War. Bought property, a ramshackle boarding house that he converted to an art den and bordello on the edge of the Brume.» Post-HW | Dragged across the world by a heartbreakingly familiar tug at his aether, Lysander comes upon Emet-Selch in one of the many clones of his most recent body. The Ascian has been woken from his sleep far earlier than he was ever supposed to. He is grieving, he is angry, and he wants this fight to be done. He explains the truth of the world to Lysander, who then offers to help, and becomes a black-masked Ascian - the only Word of Emet-Selch anyone in the organization can remember. He becomes known as The Last Word of Emet-Selch, or simply The Last Word. They mean it as an insult; he takes it on with pride.» StB | Works to help perpetuate social change inside of Ishgard. Is also working under Emet-Selch toward the next Rejoining. Does not see either of these as being at cross-purposes with one another.» Post-StB | Varis and Elidibus have become nigh-on unmanageable and someone starts fucking with the laws of time and space. Emet-Selch must leave to identify the source of the problem and address it; Lysander is the only one he trusts to leave behind with Elidibus. The Emissary's memory loss has accelerated since losing Lahabrea, and he requires a specific combination of patience, gentle nudging, and a will of unmovable iron. The very combination with which Lysander used to care for him. Thus, Lysander is left behind to shadow Elidibus; he is the only one the Architect trusts.» SHB | Lysander shadows Elidibus much as he had Emet-Selch. This period of time marks longer stretches of being away from his home in Ishgard and developing further interest in Alchemy.» Post-SHB | Lysander and Elidibus feel the severed connection of Emet-Selch's death. Elidibus physically overpowers Lysander to chase his killers all the way to the First.» Post-SHB | Elidibus' defeat leaves the remaining Ascians in chaos. The Telophoroi start making their moves. Lysander is seen again, this time in the company of a Veena with auburn hair and a cat's golden eyes.

This timeline clearly requires buy in to the working headcanons involving important NPCs. Some of these are played by other players in world. This timeline can be antagonistic, but all conflict will be negotiated beforehand.
